I am the Founder and President of the Melson Foundation, CEO and Founder of Pain Into PURPOSE and I help bring transformation to trauma-impacted individuals and communities. While many have come to know me as the "Homeless Valedictorian"—a label given to me by the media—I am much more than my past traumatic experiences. I am more than the homelessness, sexual abuse, mental abuse, emotional abuse, and physical abuse that I experienced in life.
With God's help I learned how to leverage the skills that I developed while overcoming trauma to become a sought-after expert. I now lend my expertise to inspire and coach thousands of individuals as well as consult organizations and communities through my work with Pain Into PURPOSE. As a motivational speaker and life coach I have helped individuals overcome barriers and leverage adverse life experiences to discover their purpose. As a consultant I have helped communities and institutions from the school house to the White House address the systems that have failed historically marginalized communities.
"I appreciate Rashema's approach and patience while helping me transition into my position with leading my department in racial equity."
